Menominee Lighthouse

One of the Great Lakes Historic Lighthouses, Menominee Light is a beacon to both commercial and pleasure vessels. Just upriver from the lighthouse is the Menekaune Bridge, a modern drawbridge, which raises and lowers to allow iron ore carriers, other shipping vessels, and sailboats to pass upstream.

A great adventure from M.A.R Vacation Rental is to follow these shipping vessels into Menominee. From your deck you can see them pass, heading for the lighthouse. A short drive through Menominee's Historic District on First Street brings you to the Lighthouse Pier. If you negotiate a few rocks, you can walk onto the pier to meet the ships as they pass within a few feet of your outstretched hand!
